Description
This superb case of white Burgundies opens with rich, creamy, old-vine selection from Château de la Greffière in the sunny, southerly vineyards of Mâcon. Burgundy’s Aligoté grape is a bit of an insider’s secret, deliciously revealed by ripe, peachy L’Étranger. Domaine de la Vougeraie is “a major player in top quality, occasionally profound Burgundy” (Neal Martin) and their organic Les Pierres Blanches is rounded, oaky and 100% organic. Finally, there’s Domaine Jean Chartron – a barrel-fermented, lees-aged, profound expression of classic Savigny-lès-Beaune.
