Description
Moët et Chandon have been making fine fizz for 270 years and are synonymous with luxury. And it was the founder’s grandson, Jean-Remy Moët, who introduced the world to Champagne, in the late 1700s. Madame de Pompadour, the famous mistress of King Louis XV, and Napoleon, Emperor of France, were both early fans. Moët can boast 75% of their vineyards as being Grand or Premier Cru, from the five main areas of Champagne. This allows a wide palate of flavours to blend with. Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez is a master of the art and year on year ensures Impérial, whether white or pink, is a standard bearer for this great house. Pinot Noir is the main grape, blended with Meunier and Chardonnay, while a portion of Reserve wine lends depth and complexity.
