Description
Founded in 1883, Trapiche is one of Argentina’s leading wineries. Its many accolades include twice winning ‘Argentine Wine Producer of the Year’ at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. Every year, Daniel Pi, one of the most capable and knowledgeable winemakers in Argentina, chooses the three best Malbecs from a collection of 90 separate vineyards for Trapiche’s premium Single Vineyard range. The grapes for this fine red were hand harvested from Cristina and Bibiana Coletto’s 60-year-old ungrafted vines, planted at 1,127 metres in Tupungato. It’s vinified in small, open fermenters and matured for 18 months in new French oak. Rich and full-bodied with dense black fruit and complex, integrated oak, it’s ideal with roast red meats.
