Description
Alsace is a picture postcard area of northeast France, dotted with pretty villages that wouldn’t look out of place in a book of German fairy tales. The Germanic influences don’t end there – the vineyards are planted with Riesling, the three Pinots and Gewurztraminer. Although it’s a mountain cooled part of France, Alsace is also the country’s sunniest region. This combination leads to wines of real fruit purity and intensity. This white was crafted by a cellar regarded as the third finest co-op in all France and the best in Alsace. Founded over 60 years ago, it has won many awards. Enjoy this Pinot Gris with its ample, spicy apricot fruit undercut by stony minerality. A top wine to savour solo or with creamy white meat and fish dishes.
