Merlot is gaining ground in Spain as more people come to appreciate its irresistible red fruit charms. It’s certainly an opinion perfectly illustrated by the bright versatility, and almost New World style, of this Merlot. The grapes comes from elevated, sunkissed vineyards inland from the bustling Mediterranean city of Valencia. They produce a fruit-forward red; smooth enough to enjoy solo, or with chicken, pesto pasta, roasted vegetables and, of course, all kinds of tapas.
