Description
The history of the Chartron family is closely entwined with that of Burgundy, and more precisely with that of Puligny-Montrachet. Established in 1859, the estate has been cared for by five generations – each one extending and improving the immaculate vineyards. This is the family’s superb old-vine Bourgogne, made from grapes grown just over the border from prestigious Puligny-Montrachet. A great-value white for this region, it’s full of bright peach and citrus flavour. Maturing on fine lees for eight months in barrel, then for three months in vat, has added to the complexity. Behind its golden brightness, you’ll find perfumed aromas of honeysuckle and fresh almonds, and a creamy palate of yellow fruits. A dream with chicken or salmon.
