It hails from the Big Rivers region in south-eastern Australia, rather than the more typical Barossa. Vast rivers do indeed meander through the vineyards of the Big Rivers region, bringing much-needed hydration and life to the sun-baked soils. While the area isn’t as well known as many of Australia’s other wine regions, this balance of climate and landscape creates great conditions for growing quality grapes. A juicy and bold wine with notes of blackberry, damson, spice and pepper, it’s just the thing for pairing with food.
