Description
Southern Burgundy’s Mâconnais has long been known for being a hotspot for good value, but in the last decade its winemakers have proved that this goes hand in hand with remarkable quality too. The Greuzard family has been crafting superb wines at this estate for four generations now. In fact there is evidence the property was making wine from 1585. They have vineyards dotted around the Mâconnais, but this charming red comes from the very southwest, closest to Beaujolais. There, on steep, high slopes of granite soils, the Gamay grape thrives, to produce this very attractive, light-on-its-feet red. Supple, silky and oh-so appealing, this grape is just bursting with fresh cherry and berry notes. Pair with pork, charcuterie or a cheese board.
