Alberto Ramirez is a key player in Rioja’s drive towards organic viticulture. A 3rd-generation winemaker, his vineyards are certified, his cellar is solar-powered and his car electric – he’s looking to the future. The family winery was founded in 1996 with sustainability very much in mind. They now boast 52 hectares in the Oriental subregion to the east. For this zesty white Alberto has teamed up with the wine consultant, Juan Antonio Leza, the talent behind our Epifania wines – they make a formidable team. Harvesting at night means minimal energy is used to chill the grapes at the cellar. Cool fermentation and a gentle hand ensures capture of the brisk lemon fruit of this exciting white Rioja. It makes a great aperitivo or partner to fish.
