Méo-Camuzet is one of the biggest names, not only in its home town, Vosne Romanée, but in all Burgundy. However, that wasn’t always the case. Incredibly, until 1988 most of the domaine’s holdings were leased out to other vignerons and the wine was sold off to négociants in bulk! Not so today. Since 1989 it has been run by Jean-Nicolas Méo and Christian Faurois and has just over 2.5 hectares of Grands Crus and 8 hectares of some of the finest Premier Cru vineyards of Nuits Saint Georges and Vosne Romanée. Most of the vineyards are farmed organically, grapes are sorted at the winery and the wines are matured in barrel. This expertly crafted, opulent white Burgundy is a fine match with chicken in a creamy sauce or meaty fish dishes.
