Part of the initial release for the core range of the Meikle Toir brand, which is peated whisky distilled at The Glenallachie Distillery. This bottle in particular has been first matured in ex Bourbon casks before a period in Virgin oak Chinquapin Oak casks. Not a traditional oak to use, chinquapin is a sub species of Quercus Alba the industry standard American oak used for Bourbon American Whiskeys. However, Glenallachie and Master Distiller Billy Walker have long championed this oak type and now it has its own line, dubbed ‘The Chinquapin One’ as part of the 3 initial releases from Meikle Toir. The whisky is a 5 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
