Tasting Notes Produced at Suntory’s historic mountain distillery Hakushu is one of Japan’s leading single malt whiskies. Hailing from the untouched forests and pure waters of the Southern Japanese Alps stylistically Hakushu is a herbal fresh and gently smokey expression and is a favourite of whisky connoisseurs mixologists and lovers of gastronomy. This Distillers Reserve release is a no-age-statement expression which uses a number of both lightly-peated and heavily-peated malts. Aromas of peppermint pine green apple and lemon peel are suggested on the nose whilst the palate is light and zesty with grassy overtones and smoky notes.
