Tasting Notes Ardbeg is without a doubt the peatiest and smokiest of all the Islay malts with the use of peat playing a pivotal role in its production. Ardbeg’s benchmark 10 Year Old is a multi-award winning release and is revered around the world for being one of the best expressions available. Although intensely smoky in flavour it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance and delicious harmony. Pronounced notes of smoke dried fruit nuts and dried herbs dominate the nose whilst the palate is full flavoured and incredibly intense with layers of rich flavour and outstanding length on the finish.
